জাতির উদ্দেশে ‘জনতা-কার্ফুর, আর্জি জানিয়ে বক্তৃতায় যা বলেছিলেন, সোমবার শিল্প মহলের সঙ্গে বৈঠকে সেই কর্মী ছাঁটাই না-করার কথাই বললেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী।  আর কেন্দ্র যে বিষয়টিকে গুরুত্ব দিচ্ছে, তা স্পষ্ট করেই এই বার্তা কার্যকর করতে মাঠে নেমেছে শ্রম মন্ত্রক ও কর্মী প্রভিডেন্ট ফান্ড দফতর (ইপিএফও)। করোনার সঙ্গে লড়াইয়ের সময়ে যাতে কোনও সংস্থার কর্মীর চাকরি না-যায়, সে জন্য পদক্ষেপ করতে সব রাজ্যের মুখ্যসচিবকে চিঠি দিয়েছেন শ্রমসচিব হীরালাল সামারিয়া। লিখেছেন, এই সময়ে কারও বেতন যাতে ছাঁটাই না-হয়, সেই বিষয়টিও নিশ্চিত করতে চেষ্টার কথা। নথিভুক্ত সব সংস্থাকে একই আর্জি জানিয়ে চিঠি দিয়েছে ইপিএফও-ও।  সামারিয়া লিখেছেন, বর্তমানে ভারত-সহ বিশ্ব যে সমস্যার মুখোমুখি, তার বিরুদ্ধে সকলে মিলে রুখে দাঁড়াতে সব রাষ্ট্রায়ত্ত ও বেসরকারি সংস্থাকে আপাতত কর্মী ছাঁটাইয়ের পথে না-হাঁটার পরামর্শ দিচ্ছে মন্ত্রক। বলছে বেতন ছাঁটাই না-করার কথাও। বিশেষত ঠিকা কর্মীদের। কেউ ছুটি নিলে বা সংস্থা বন্ধ রাখতে হলেও কর্মীদের বেতন যেন কাটা না-যায়। তাঁর অনুরোধ, নিজ নিজ রাজ্যের সব সংস্থার মালিক...
